Property Caretaker at Umeå Municipality

Umeå Municipality is growing and our ambitions are high.

We are now looking for someone who wants to help shape tomorrow's Umeå. The Property department represents Umeå Municipality as a property owner and is tasked with acquiring, managing, and disposing of premises for municipal operations. We manage over one million square meters of schools, care facilities, cultural and recreational facilities, and more.

Within the property department, there are four management areas: Building and Property Technology, Property Management, Administration and Strategic Support, and Property Operations. Property Operations is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and supervision, as well as energy measures in the municipality's properties and is divided into four management areas. In each area, there is an area manager, operations coordinator, operation technician, property caretaker, and electrician. Within Property Operations, there are also employees who work with land and green area maintenance, energy, ventilation, electricity and electrical safety, locks and alarms, and technical administration. In total, Property Operations consists of about 80 employees.

We are now looking for a property caretaker who, together with other employees in property operations, will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and supervision, as well as energy measures in the municipality's properties. Your Responsibilities

As a property caretaker, you will have property responsibility for a number of properties, and you will be part of a group consisting of an area manager, operations coordinator, operation technician, electrician, and property caretaker. In total, there are about 20 people working in each area, and together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the area.

You will perform supervision and maintenance of properties and technical installations, corrective and preventive maintenance work. The tasks also include troubleshooting, repairs, and systematic fire safety work, as well as responsibility for ongoing tenant contacts. You will also handle our operations' fault reports in our case management system. We in the Property department have a strong focus on sustainability issues, environment, and energy, and you will contribute to this teamwork by following up on our energy use.

This is a job for you who want tenant contacts, property responsibility, and to represent Property and Umeå Municipality in contact with our contractors, such as those who manage all land and green area maintenance and snow removal.

About You

We are looking for someone who has completed a 3-year upper secondary education in Operations and Maintenance/Property Technology or has completed another adult education with a property focus or equivalent. You have previous experience working as a property caretaker/property technician or similar.

If you have experience in plumbing, electrical work, lock & access systems, service & repair of appliances, as well as large kitchen equipment, that is also an advantage.

As a person, you are service-oriented, attentive, communicative, and have good collaboration skills. You are responsible and are not afraid to work independently, which is important in a role that requires you to be solution-focused and able to solve challenges independently.

The position requires a B driver's license.
